Mason Jar Smoothies: Drink Your Veggies!

Good news. You no longer have to 'eat your greens.' Smoothies make it easy to drink your daily dose of essential vitamins and minerals - and depending on your creativity, these colorful boosts of energy can curb cravings and keep you on track throughout the day.

Inspirational recipes are aplenty - look to Pinterest to get started (and you'll be there for hours).  Milkshake's healthy cousin, the smoothie is able to disguise otherwise healthy ingredients as palatable indulgence (check out the recipe for a PB&J smoothie below!). 

Vegetables like kale are fortified with nutrients; one cup has only 36 calories and 5 grams of fiber.  The great thing about kale is it is inexpensive, adds bulk, and when mixed with berries, banana, yogurt, vanilla protein powder, and other natural stuff, it's really delicious. 

Cut back on time and clean-up by making smoothies directly in a Regular-mouth Mason jar with an Oster blender.  Add your ingredients, blend, and take it 'to-go.'
