St. Patrick’s Day “Lucky” Slime in a Mason Jar

Ages 6+

A bright, sparkly, squishy slime that comes together with ingredients you likely already have and stores neatly in a Mason jar between play sessions.

Method 1: Traditional borax slime (adapted from A Spark of Creativity): 2 tsp borax, 1 1/2 cups water, 1 bottle Elmer's white glue, 10 drops green food coloring, glitter, and a Mason jar with a reCAP FLIP or POUR lid. Dissolve the borax in 1 cup water; separately mix the glue with 1/2 cup water, add food coloring and glitter, then pour the borax mixture in and knead into a ball once it starts to solidify.

Method 2: Cornstarch slime (eco- and kid-friendly, no borax): 1 1/2 cups water, 3 to 4 drops food coloring, 2 cups cornstarch, glitter. Mix the water and cornstarch thoroughly, stir in glitter, add coloring, and knead until soft and squishy; slightly runnier than the borax version, but just as fun.

Store it smarter: Once playtime's over, cap with a reCAP FLIP or POUR lid to keep it from drying out; no plastic containers or mystery craft bins needed.
