1. Introduction

Mason Jars Company, doing business as reCAP Mason Jars ("reCAP," "we," "us," or "our"), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit recapmasonjars.com (the "Site") or make a purchase, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us: your name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number, order details, and account login if you create one. When you pay, your payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically: when you browse the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect technical and usage information such as your device type, browser, IP address, pages viewed, referring pages, and the dates and times of your visits. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).

Information from third parties: we may receive information from our service providers, such as our ecommerce platform, payment processor, shipping and fulfillment partners, and analytics and advertising providers, to help us process orders, prevent fraud, and understand how the Site is used.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to process and fulfill your orders, communicate with you about your orders and account, provide customer support, send marketing emails if you have opted in, improve our products and the Site, prevent fraud and secure the Site, and comply with our legal obligations. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message or by contacting us.

5. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site and understand how it is used. These fall into three groups. Essential cookies are needed for the Site and checkout to function, including through our ecommerce platform, Shopify. Analytics cookies help us measure traffic and usage; we use Google Analytics 4 for this purpose. Advertising cookies help us measure and improve our advertising; we use Google Ads, which may set cookies to understand whether visits or purchases followed one of our ads.

Google acts as our service provider for these tools and processes the associated data under its own terms. You can learn about Google's practices and opt out of Google Analytics through Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and you can manage ad personalization through your Google account settings. Most browsers also let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Where required by law, we honor recognized browser-based opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).

6. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described here: with service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as our ecommerce platform, payment processor, shipping and fulfillment partners, email service, and analytics and advertising providers, and only as needed for them to perform those functions; when required by law, or to respond to a subpoena, court order, or lawful request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety or that of others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy.

Some privacy laws define the use of advertising cookies as "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. Where those laws apply to you, you may exercise the choices described in Sections 5 and 7.

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and to the extent applicable law requires, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request that we correct or delete it, opt out of targeted advertising or the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. If you would like us to stop using advertising cookies associated with your browser, you can use the browser and Google controls described in Section 5, and where required we will honor Global Privacy Control signals.

8. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, and after that only as long as necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, tax and accounting requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (SSL/TLS), to protect your information, and our payment processing is handled by providers that maintain their own security standards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

10. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 for targeted advertising. If we learn we have collected such information without the required consent, we will delete it. The Site may link to websites we do not operate. This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

12. Where we operate

reCAP is based in the United States and your information is processed here. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be handled in the United States under this Policy.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated Policy on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Policy.
