Natural Sleep Massage Oil (with the reCAP Pump)
*Yield: Makes about 12 oz.
A soothing foot massage paired with a calming DIY sleep oil is one of the best nighttime rituals for unwinding: it's simple to make, deeply relaxing, and doubles as a thoughtful handmade gift.
Why a foot massage? Feet have large pores that absorb essential oils quickly, so massaging in a calming blend before bed helps ease tension and signal it's time to rest. Works on sore muscles anywhere on the body too.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 1/4 tsp (about 25 drops) bergamot essential oil
- 1/2 tsp (about 50 drops) lavender essential oil
- 1/2 tsp (about 50 drops) sandalwood or cedarwood essential oil
- 1 pint Mason jar with a reCAP PUMP.
How to make it:
- Blend the olive oil and coconut oil on high until fully combined.
- Reduce to low speed and slowly add the essential oils.
- Pour into a Mason jar and secure with a reCAP PUMP.
How to use it: Massage a small amount into your feet before bed, cover with socks, and settle in.
Essential oil notes: Bergamot (bright, uplifting citrus), Lavender (floral, calming, quiets an overactive mind), Sandalwood or Cedarwood (earthy, grounding, soothes restlessness).
Boost it with a foot bath: Fill a bin with warm water, add 1/2 cup Epsom salts, massage feet with the oil, soak 15 to 20 minutes, then pat dry.
