The No Spill Picnic Packing Guide: Mason Jar Edition
Share
Picnic season is peak Mason jar season, and once you see why, you will not want to pack a picnic bag without one again. Mason jars seal tight, they do not leak, they do not shatter, and they look genuinely great sitting on a blanket in the park.
Everything you are currently packing in single use bags, flimsy containers, or bottles that roll around in your bag can go in a Mason jar instead. Here is our ideal picnic lineup.
Salad in a Jar
Layer dressing on the bottom, then hardy toppings like chickpeas, cucumbers, and carrots, then greens on top. Seal it with a reCAP FLIP cap and give it a shake when you are ready to eat. Zero soggy lettuce. Zero separate dressing container to lose in your bag.
Batch Lemonade
Make a big Mason Jar of lemonade at home before you head out. A reCAP FLIP cap keeps it sealed and spill proof in your bag the whole way there. Pour it into cups once you arrive, or just drink it straight from the jar. We will not judge.
Dip Jar
Hummus, guacamole, or whatever dip you love goes right into a wide mouth Mason Jar. Bring crackers or veggies to dip straight in. One container, no mess, nothing to spill in transit.
Fruit and Granola Parfait
Layer yogurt, granola, and fruit in individual Mason Jars ahead of time. Seal with the lids, pack them in the cooler, and hand everyone a long spoon when you arrive.
The best picnics are the ones where you actually get to relax. Pack the jar, leave the stress at home.
