Ingredients:

  • 2 shallots (minced)
  • 2 garlic cloves (finely minced)
  • 3 lemons (zested and juiced)
  • 3 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • Kosher salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 wide-mouth pint Mason jars

How to make it:

  1. Combine and mix all ingredients in one pint-sized Mason jar.
  2. Transfer half the marinade into a second jar.
  3. Add a chicken breast (or other protein) to each jar.
  4. Seal tightly and refrigerate at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  5. Remove from the fridge 30 minutes before grilling.

Grilling tips: Marinate overnight for deeper flavor, bring meat to room temperature before grilling, and reserve a little marinade (before it touches raw meat) to brush on while grilling.

Pairs well with: Grilled vegetables, summer salads, roasted potatoes. Store leftover marinade in the fridge up to 3 days.
