Sage Whiskey Lemonade (Fresh Herb Summer Cocktail)
Bright. Herbal. Refreshingly simple.
If your summer drinks feel a little basic, this is the upgrade. Fresh citrus, sage, and whiskey create something that tastes elevated but takes almost no effort.
Why this recipe works: Fresh herbs add depth without complexity, citrus keeps it light and refreshing, it's easy to customize (alcoholic or not), and it's perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 to 1 cup ice
- Juice from 1/2 an orange (plus a slice for garnish)
- 1 lemon (sliced)
- 5 oz whiskey
- 2 cups lemonade
- 2 sprigs sage
How to make it:
- Add all ingredients to a Mason jar.
- Shake vigorously.
- Pour over ice.
- Garnish with orange, lemon, and sage.
- Serve and enjoy.
Make it your way: Skip the whiskey for an alcohol-free version, swap in vodka, gin, or rum, or lightly muddle the sage before shaking for a stronger herb flavor.
Make it easier (and less messy): A reCAP POUR Lid lets you shake without leaks, pour cleanly over ice, and store leftovers in the same jar.
Pro tips: Use fresh-squeezed citrus for the best flavor, don't overdo the sage since it's strong, and chill ingredients beforehand for a colder drink.
